The problems we are here to solve

Your Big Voice Foundation uses music, song, and voice as therapeutic tools not to create performers, but to restore wholeness. To help people find the courage to be heard, exactly as they are.

One in four Americans would rather jump out of a moving vehicle than speak or sing in public.

By age 9, many children have already internalized the belief that their voice isn't good enough that singing is only for 'talented' people, or that expressing themselves freely is unsafe.

For communities facing poverty, incarceration, trauma, addiction, or systemic marginalization, voice suppression is even deeper. Silence becomes survival. And silence, over time, becomes suffering.

We call this Voice Trauma and we've dedicated our work to healing it.

Programs

Big Voice youth Program

people gathering in a event

A free 12-week voice and music curriculum designed for classrooms, after-school programs, and community centers. No musical training required from facilitators or students.

Each session builds on the last moving from vocal exploration and breath work to songwriting, harmony, and a final group performance. Children learn to identify their 'Small Voices' (inner critics), work with stage fright, and discover that their voice exactly as it is is a powerful tool for confidence and connection.

"The fear of being heard affects 75% of the population. We believe it starts young. So we startthere too."

School & Community Partnerships

We partner with schools, districts, nonprofits, correctional facilities, and community organizations to embed voice-positive programming directly into existing structures.

Our partnerships are long-term, relational, and built around the specific needs of each community. We provide curriculum, facilitator training, and ongoing support.

Current partner communities: underserved youth, incarcerated individuals, veterans, mothers in recovery, and families in transition.

Scholarships

Access to the arts should never be determined by a zip code or a bank account. YBVF scholarships provide full access to our programs, workshops, and events for individuals and families who cannot afford participation.

We are actively seeking scholarship sponsors and donors who believe, as we do, that every voice deserves to be heard.
